Sherra Lee Bailey, 78, passed away on October 3, 2024 in Overton, NV. Sherra Was born on April 18, 1946 in Klamath Falls, OR to William Lloyd Hull and Elisabeth Mae Edler. Sherra’s family moved to the Roseville, CA area soon after and she later graduated from Placer Hills High School in 1964. She loved horse-back riding and riding on the family horse, “Geronimo”. She also loved to ski. She attended BYU in Provo, UT for a few years, where she fell in love with island culture. She joined a Polynesian club where she learned many cultural dances. She loved to attend church and community dances. She transferred to The Church College of Hawaii, where she graduated with a Teaching degree, and began teaching at the Laie Elementary School. She gave birth to her two children, Mark and Dalisay, before moving back to Roseville, CA. She met Ira Dale Bailey, and they were married on December 20, 1975 in the Oakland, CA Temple. They had five more children and relocated to Farmington, NM and Bayfield, CO before settling in Overton, NV. Sherra became a teacher at the Grant M. Bowler Elementary School. She started out teaching first grade then went on to teach second grade for twenty years before retiring. She was a loving teacher and really wanted her students to succeed. 

Sherra was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held many callings and served as Relief Society and Young Women’s president as well as various primary callings. She was called into the Nursery multiple times to care for the smallest toddlers, and Dale was there with her.  Sherra loved serving, helping with quilts and baking bread. She enjoyed working on her family history. When she was younger, she loved snorkeling and skindiving in Hawaii, and she was part of the Turtle Club. Later she would enjoy hunting and camping with her husband and family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and teacher.

Sherra is survived by her children, Mark I. Bailey, Dalisay (Darrell) Shyface, Carrie (Aaron) Schroeder, Aaron D. (Amy) Bailey, Rebekah (Devan) Reese, Charity (James) Hardy, and Christina (Weston) Goddard; her grandchildren, Jaden, Alexa, Lucas, Markus (Calista), Kaila (Puna), Maika, Dakota, Victoria, Hilary (Mark), Shawn, Shyra, Stephanie, Sianna, Parker, Shailey, Caden, Daxon, Zoe, Stryker, Steel, Lillian, Weston, and Paisley; her great-grandchildren, Remy, Conor, and Alana; and her siblings, Bill (Susan) Hull, Rick (Shirlene) Hull and Bonnie (Guy) Getz. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Elisabeth Hull; and her husband, Ira Dale Bailey.

A Viewing will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Overton, Nevada Chapel, followed by the Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services will follow at the Logandale Cemetery.
