Sherri Lynn Deveaney, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend of many passed away on July 17, 2025, at Magee Women's Hospital. Born on July 9, 1964, in Washington, Pennsylvania; a daughter of the late Wallace "Wally" and Nancy A. Smith Sturgeon. Sherri was a 1982 graduate of Fort Cherry High School, who worked for Title 365 in Moon Township.
Sherri was known for her vibrant spirit and diverse interests. She had a fondness for collecting Mickey Mouse figurines, which brought her immense joy. An artist at heart, she enjoyed arts and crafts as well, often channeling her creativity into projects that would be cherished by her family. Sherri also had a deep love for nature, particularly camping trips at Lake Erie, where she created lasting memories with her family. Spending quality time with her loved ones was paramount to her, and she treasured every moment together.
In her passing, Sherri leaves behind two loving sons, Timothy G. Deveaney and Brandon Deveaney (Amanda). She was the proud grandmother of three grandchildren: Kais, Harmony, and Hayden; Allishia, the mother of Harmony and Hayden. Sherri is also survived by her two brothers, Jim Sturgeon and Jeffrey (Brenda) Sturgeon; a niece, Rachael (Bob) Kelly; and four nephews, Layton Sturgeon, and Richie, Michael, and Mathew Deveaney.
Sherri will be remembered by all who knew her for her warmth, creativity, and the love she shared so freely. She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey J. Deveaney; a infant sister, Darcey Lynn Sturgeon; and her companion, Kurt Ashenfelter.
A memorial gathering to honor Sherri's life will take place on July 24, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Graff-Nation Funeral and Cremation Services, located at 218-220 East Lincoln Ave., McDonald, PA 15057. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate her extraordinary life and the lasting impact she made on those around her.
