Sherri Fisher Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Maryland Cremation Services on Dec. 8, 2025.
Sherri Lee Fisher, 62, of Ferndale, Maryland, passed away on December 3, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of boundless energy, kindness, and love. Born on October 16, 1963, Sherri lived a life defined by movement, sunshine, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to her family.
Sherri worked for many years at The Stained Glass Pub, where she poured her heart into bartending and serving. Her coworkers became a second family, and her loyal customers loved her warm smile, quick laugh, and the genuine care she showed everyone who walked through the door.
Known throughout multiple gyms in the area, Sherri was an aerobics and step instructor whose enthusiasm was contagious. She often brought her four children to the gym daycare and taught countless classes, inspiring others with her strength and positivity. Her love of being active continued throughout her life-running, biking, walking, and embracing every bit of sunshine she could find. She adored the beach, where she once won "Best Body on the Beach" in ocean city in 1983 and participated in many fitness contests. Tanning on the sand for hours was her happy place, her own form of medicine.
Sherri cherished simple joys: sunshine, wine, beer, football, Maryland crabs, the sauna, and quiet moments spent breathing deeply after a good workout. She loved feeding her squirrels and birds every day and tending to her tomato garden with her grandchildren. The casino, keno, and the horse track were her favorite little adventures. She idolized Marilyn Monroe and Dolly Parton. Country music was her favorite. She always wore her pink pop lipstick and slipped on her pink cowgirl boots every chance she got.
Above all, Sherri's greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was being a mother. She often said that raising her children was the best time of her life and encouraged everyone to experience the joy of motherhood. She brought magic to every holiday-especially Christmas-promising each year to "keep it simple" and then filling her home with a huge real tree and gifts piled to the ceiling. Her favorite Christmas movies were National Lampoons Christmas Vacation and It's a Wonderful Life.
Sherri lived by the motto "Be kind and humble," a way of life she modeled effortlessly. She gave everything she had, always thinking of others before herself. Her positivity, radiant smile, and ability to light up any room made her unforgettable. She felt deeply, loved wholeheartedly, and moved through the world with a beautiful, selfless spirit. She was, as her friends and family lovingly describes her, "an inspiration, an icon, a legend, a saint, the salt of the earth, the most beautiful woman inside and out."
Sherri is survived by her four children-Rachel Scalio, Roxanne Fisher, Renee Leone, and Charles Fisher-and her six beloved grandchildren: Nevaeh, Giana, Scarlett, Brooks, Jasper, and Rhodes. She also leaves behind her sister Sheila and her three brothers, Vince, Dave, and Doug.
Sherri bravely faced a very rare and aggressive cancer with remarkable strength and courage. She fought with all she had, never losing her spirit. In the end, she was surrounded by her children and passed away peacefully, held in love.
Her family will forever carry her spirit with them, honoring her by living with the same joy, compassion, and courage she showed every day. Though her loss is immeasurable, so is the love she leaves behind.
We will have a celebration of life to be determined. We will let everyone know once we know more. We know she touched so many people and she loved you all, thank you for all the kind words. We appreciate the support during the heartbreaking time.
Saint Philip Neri will mention her in all the masses this weekend including Friday Mass also they're going to have a mass for her on February 28th, Saturday night at 5:30 2026.

I am so sorry to hear this sad news. Sherri was such a kind and sweet person from the time I met her back in elementary school. It was always a pleasure running into her over the years. Sending prayers to her family during this difficult time.
