Dj MacIntosh Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Maryland Cremation Services on Dec. 12, 2025.
DJ passed away in Hagerstown, MD at age 47. He was born in Lowell MA and was the son of Marilyn (MV) MacIntosh of Hampton, NH.
DJ attended Shawsheen Technical High School in Billerica, MA and graduated in 1996 with 2 diplomas: High school and Medical Assisting. He graduated with a BA from Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA where he was a triple threat (singing, acting, dancing) in the Musical Theater program. In high school he appeared in "Grease", opening the show and "Annie," shaving his head for charity to play Daddy Warbucks. In college he was in many productions and also directed "Jerry Finnegan's Sister" and Woody Allen's "God". In 2023 he appeared in the Sunshine Boys at the Potomac Playmakers Performing Arts Center. He was an avid Puppeteer (he made his own muppets and voiced them – he did a Kermit voice amazingly), loved Dr Who (he had a TARDIS tattoo), Star Trek (yup he had a uniform and tricorder), and Star Wars (he saw every movie).
He worked at the Navy Federal Credit Union in VA for over 18 years as a Business Operations Analyst in Customer Service.
He leaves behind his wife, Katie (Murphy) MacIntosh and their daughter River and with his first wife, Samantha Vandeberg he leaves his son Will MacIntosh and daughter Sage MacIntosh of Winchester, VA. Also his Uncle and Godfather Edwin MacIntosh of Merrimack, NH and his much loved Aunt Carolyn (MacIntosh) Adams of Nashua, NH, his cousins, Melissa, Jaime and Jennifer MacIntosh of NH, many cousins, his friends at Navy Federal Credit Union and his computer mentor and friend Jesse Heines. He was predeceased in death by his grandparents, Virginia and Edwin L. MacIntosh (his Grandma and Pop) and his Uncle Bob MacIntosh and Uncle Glen Adams.
DJ was born with ocular albinism and was legally blind and his poor vision prevented him from driving a car but not from living life to the fullest. In 1996 he was interviewed at graduation by the Lowell Sun newspaper and said, "I try to lead a normal life. My friend tells me I'm ignoring my handicap, but I don't like to use it as a crutch. I like to say I'm Handi-capable."
So many friends of DJ have reached out to the family and asked how they can help, so in lieu of flowers, if you are able, Donations can be made to assist with arrangements and help his family. Venmo or PayPal link. A memorial will be held at a later date. Pictures or memories for a memory book for his children would be appreciated.
