Sherri Ann "Momma Bear" Lay, age 60 of Centralia, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 2, 2024.
Sherri was born on November 22, 1963 in Centralia, the daughter of Arthur Lee Organ and Janice (Soper) Organ. She married Joe Lay on June 28, 1997 in Centralia and he survives.
In addition to her husband, Joe, she is survived by her bonus dad, Paul Womack; children, Amie Organ, Jake Dellinger and wife Ashley, Amber Ashlock and husband Brad, and Jared Williams; grandchildren, Drake Hand, Jaelinn Hand, Madyson Ashlock, Kinsley Ashlock, Brynley Ashlock, Arah Cramer, Nariah DeArmon, and Kyson Westbrook; special niece, Liz Street; siblings, Doug Organ, Jeff Organ, Debra Bates and husband Rich, Jana Doolen and husband Steve, and Sue Anne Carter and husband Joe; "best good friends", Jeanne "Duck" Bosler and Tana Bosler; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Arthur Organ; mom, Janice Womack; grandparents, Audrey and Raymond Soper; and a brother, Daniel Organ.
Sherri was a homemaker, enjoyed thrifting and shopping, had a great sense of humor, and was the best cheesecake maker. She enjoyed being a "Memaw" to her grandkids, a dog mom, and Pepsi with chewy ice. She loved traveling to the beach, spending time in Florida and Jamaica. Sherri attended City Hope Church.
A Celebration of Life for Sherri Lay will be held at Crouse Funeral Home on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 7:00 pm. A time to visit with family will be held from 5:00 pm until the time of the service. Burial will take place privately at Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin. Memorial contributions can be made to the family and can be received at the funeral home.
