Sherri Lynn Faulk Martin, 62, resident of Newport, NC passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening, June 12, 2025, at her home. Her passing came just ten days after her beloved mother passed.
Sherri was a native of the Mount Olive area, and was a member of the 1981 graduating class of North Duplin High School. Her marriage to her husband, John, brought the opportunity to live in many places as he was a military man. Despite her heart's desire to become a nurse, the many moves made that dream be unfilled. Instead, she focused on and excelled at management, and through the years, she was store manager of several retail department stores. As a military wife, she supported John in his military career, and understood completely the essence and importance of his job.
Sherri is survived by her husband, John Richard Martin, of their Newport home; four brothers, Kenny Faulk and wife, Linda, of Mount Olive, Ernie Faulk of Mount Olive, David Faulk and wife, Sheila, of Dudley, and Tony Faulk of Mount Olive. She also leaves behind several nephews and nieces to include Nikki Faulk Wolfe; along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles N. and Nellie Lou Thigpen Faulk; and her beloved grandparents, Walter "Tupp" and Audrey Holland Faulk, and George W. and Annie Whaley Thigpen.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 17, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive. Officiating will the the Rev. Jeff Bartlett. The family will receive friends at Tyndall immediately following the service. Committal rites will be Wednesday, June 18, at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Wayne Memorial Park near Goldsboro.
