Sherri Jane McAnulty Steele, 61, of Concord, passed away Monday, January 15, 2024.

Sherri was born June 2, 1962, in Concord to Gene Ray McAnulty, Sr. and Janie Medlin McAnulty.  Her father, Gene Ray McAnulty, Sr. also passed away earlier that day, January 15, 2024.  Sherri is also preceded in death by her brother, Gene Ray McAnulty, Jr.

Sherri was strong-willed and loved fiercely.  She had a very close relationship with her dad and to have him waiting for her in Heaven was the greatest surprise.  Sherri was a proud Momma and Maw-Maw, and she lived for her grandbabies.

Survivors include son, Jeffery Clark Harkey, Jr. and wife, Rachel Siminoski, of Huntersville; mother, Janie Medlin McAnulty of Concord; 4 grandchildren, Mina Allyn Harkey, Jefferson Clark Harkey, Graham Joseph Harkey and Willa Jane Harkey; and nieces, Tasha Johnson and husband, Jason Johnson, and Addyson McAnulty.

The memorial service in celebration of Sherri's life will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Remedy Church in Concord officiated by Rev. Alex Howard and Rev. Troy Beaver.  Sherri's service will immediately follow her father's funeral service at the church.
