Sherri Lynn Moore, a cherished soul whose warmth and generosity touched the lives of many, entered into rest on January 3, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on March 11, 1958, in Houston, Texas, Sherri was a beacon of love and kindness, whose culinary skills and spirited nature brought joy to all who knew her.

Sherri will be remembered affectionately for her talent in the kitchen, particularly her legendary baby back ribs, which she lovingly prepared for family and friends despite living with chronic pain. She embodied the saying, "Dynamite comes in small packages," a tiny girl with a heart so large that it embraced everyone around her. Her selflessness shone brightly as she ensured that those she cared about never went hungry, even as she faced her own challenges.

A devoted pet lover, Sherri adored her three Schnauzers: Beau, Bella, and Cooper, caring for them with unwavering dedication. She found immense joy in the simple things, from fishing at Texas City’s the Dyke, where nature offered her solace, to nurturing her love for frogs and the delightful adventure of catching live insects to feed to them. In her youth, she excelled at softball and always enjoyed cheering passionately for her beloved hometown teams, the Houston Astros and the Houston Texans. Sherri's creativity blossomed through her artistic endeavors, painting charming yard art for her mother with amazing attention to detail.

Sherri took pride in her accomplishments, from overcoming a lifelong smoking habit to daily walks that rebuilt her strength and fostered connections with neighbors. With her dear friend David faithfully carrying her oxygen tank, they would embark on their daily mile together, a testament to her determination and resilience. Sherri’s compassionate spirit led her to grow her hair out for donation to organizations providing wigs for children battling cancer, a reflection of her caring nature.

Surviving Sherri is her beloved mother, Mary Ann Hickman; her brother, Rusty Hickman; her best friends, David Smith and Rodney Peña; and her cousin, Donna Eilers Russell. She is also survived by numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, family members, and treasured friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Sherri found eternal peace alongside her father, William Bates Hickman Jr..
