Sherrie M. Ruhl Ober, 67, of Manheim passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 6, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lebanon, she was the daughter of Lyanna Wolfe Schwenk Thome of Manheim and the late Warren Schwenk. She was the loving wife of Gary L. Ober and they would have observed their 46th wedding anniversary in June. Sherrie was a 1976 graduate of Manheim Central High School and worked for Ten Thousand Villages and was an Associate Director of Human Resources for Eastern Mennonite Missions, Lancaster. She was a member of Calvary Church, Lancaster. Sherrie was an animal lover and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving in addition to her mother and husband are two daughters, Angela Ruhl fiancée of Lawrence Wise of Manheim, Jamie Ober wife of Trey Horsey of Hatfield, a son, Daniel husband of Marissa Ober of Myrtle Beach, SC; seven grandchildren and a brother, Warren “Boomps” Schwenk fiancé of Sandra Kropf of Lebanon.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Sherrie’s Funeral Service at Chiques Church 4045 Sunnyside Road, Manheim on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM and again on Friday morning at Chiques Church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment in Chiques Church Cemetery, Manheim. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Sherrie’s memory to KPETS, P.O. Box 208, Akron, PA 17501.
