Sherron was born on May 17, 1970, in Chicago, Illinois. She was the second child of Mosella Bankston and Jesse Van Smith. Her mother later married Jimmy Bankston who played a huge role in her life and gave her the nickname "Gal." Her sisters and brothers are Mychelle, James (BoBo), Missy, Stephanie, Courtney, and Marie.
Sherron went to St. Margret Catholic School as an adolescent and then attended Unity Catholic High School where she graduated with her high school diploma. Following graduation, she spent some time at Columbia College to pursue a career in journalism. She spent most of her career at Hertz Car Company as a customer service specialist.
In 1994, Sherron met Gregory Howell and the two had their only child, Kailee Howell, in July of 1996. Kailee was the apple of Sherron's eye.
Sherron was active at New Faith Baptist Church. She was passionate about her family and devoted herself to being the best mother she could be. She loved creating memories with her family and organized numerous family trips and events. Sherron also helped her mother on a daily basis all while maintaining her career.
She was known for her beautiful eyes and strong, witty personality. She was highly intelligent, a thinker and a great listener. She had mastered the art of patience and would always take the time to observe the room before speaking.
"Every memory of my mom is a favorite. She taught me that no matter how many times you fall in life you have to get up; no matter what. She taught me the importance of God and that showing faith will get you through any storm. Lastly, she taught me to be grateful because life is precious, and we need to cherish every moment and memory."
The world is a sadder place without Sherron in in it. She left every one of us with memories we will cherish forever.
