Terri Lynn Dicus, nee Chandler, of Cuba, MO, was born on Wednesday, December 9, 1964 in Columbia, MO, to Theodore Chandler and Beulah Francis Chandler, nee Mason. She passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Washington, MO, at the age of 60 years and 11 months.
Terri attended Steelville High School. In June of 1979, she married Allan Ray Dicus and 2 children, Crystal and Bradley, were born to this union. In 1991, she continued her education at Columbia College, where she studied to become a legal secretary. Though she had many talents, Terri's heart was always drawn to caring for others. She was a natural caregiver and spent many years working as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Gibbs Care Center in Steelville, Cuba Manor, DCAI, and in private care. Her compassion, dedication, and gentle spirit touched the lives of countless people throughout her career.
Terri had accepted the Lord as her Savior and attended Deer Creek Church in Cuba, Missouri. Her faith was an important part of her life and brought her great comfort and strength. In her free time, Terri loved being outdoors and enjoying the beauty of nature. She especially loved camping, floating, kayaking, and spending time on the river. She could often be found taking peaceful walks in nature with her beloved dog, Rocky. Terri also enjoyed vacations to the beach, where she found relaxation and joy.
Above all, Terri cherished her family. She loved every moment spent with them, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her warmth, kindness, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Beulah Chandler; siblings, Harvey (Edith) Chandler, Betty (June) Brewer, Sue Bommarito and Ellen Elsner; brother-in-law, Larry Joyce; nephews, Jeff, Joe Chandler and Everett Wisdom.
Terri is survived by her loving children, Crystal Dicus (Erik Lowes) of Leasburg, MO and Brad (Ashley) Dicus of Steelville, MO; 5 grandchildren: Addison Lowes, Kaylen Lowes, Hazel Lowes, Braden Dicus and Gracyn Dicus; brothers, Alvin (Barb) Chandler and Frank (Sandy) Chandler both of Wesco, MO; sister, Shirley Joyce of Sullivan, MO; brothers-in-law, Rick Bommarito of St. Louis, MO and Craig Elsner of St. James, MO; special niece, Tamara Cape of Steelville, MO; special nephew, Michael (Dawn) Chandler of Cook Station, MO; other relatives and friends.
Visitation is from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO. Funeral Service is at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. Burial is at Wesco Cemetery.
