Todd Koppinger Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Parker-Millard Funeral Service and Crematory on Jan. 12, 2026.
Todd Koppinger, age 56, of Centralia, Missouri passed away on January 5, 2026, surrounded by his family. Todd was born on June 3, 1969, in Minot, ND to Thomas and Donna Koppinger.
Todd is survived by his wife, Laura, his children Charlie and Madison (Zach), his grandson John Dalton Veit (J.D), or as Todd often called him, 'Puddles', his father, Tom Koppinger, his mother, Donna Koppinger, his brother, Joseph Koppinger (Jennifer), and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Anne, stepmother Lolita, and his grandparents.
Todd attended schools in Minot, ND, St. Leo's Elementary School, Erik Ramstad Jr. High, and graduated from Bishop Ryan High School where he participated in football and golf. He attended University of North Dakota where he earned his bachelor's in Criminal Justice and Sociology.
Todd moved to Missouri to continue his education, to be closer to family, and to pursue work in his field. He finished his Master's Degree in Criminal Justice at Columbia College. Todd met his future wife, Laura Bergthold, through co workers. Their first date almost didn't happen, because of a parking lot snafu. However, things worked out wonderfully as Todd and Laura were engaged in December 2002 and were married on May 24, 2003. Todd, Laura, and family made their home in Centralia, MO.
One of Todd's passions led him to become an adjunct professor at the University of Missouri. He taught in the Training Interdisciplinary Partnerships for Kids (TIPS) in Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Related Disabilities (LEND) training program at the Thompson Center.
Todd was passionate about history and stories about Bigfoot and Gray Aliens. Fishing, hiking, and cross country skiing were also favorites of Todd's. He also found satisfaction in repairing things that didn't work and making them useful again. If you were looking for him, chances are he was barbequing in the backyard, having a fire in his firepit, or taking his beloved dog Daisy Mae for rides to get pup cups. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his son Charlie and taking him for car rides around town.
Todd was a compassionate, devoted, and understanding person that deeply cared for family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother.
A Celebration of Life with a Liturgy of the Word Service will be Saturday, January 17th, will begin at 11:00 AM CST at Parker Millard Funeral Service and Crematory, 12 E. Ash, Columbia, MO 65203.

Sending Prayers and hugs to Todd's family! Todd recently joined our team at MPACT and came out the gate making a difference in the lives of our parents navigating the special needs process. Todd seemed to really enjoy the work that we did and enjoyed learning more about helping our families. He will be missed!
