Brooks Baker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Nelson-Berna Funeral Home & Crematory of Fayetteville on Mar. 10, 2026.
Brooks Michael Baker, 30, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away March 4, 2026, at his home. He was born July 20, 1995, in Columbia, Missouri, to Mike and Karen (Hinton) Baker.

Brooks was a graduate of Fayetteville High School, where he was a member of the school's golf team. He was currently working as a carpenter for Rarebird Builders. Brooks was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer, and craftsman who loved being outdoors and working with his hands.

From an early age, Brooks was curious, creative, and happiest outside. He grew up cutting down trees, digging holes "to China," and taking apart toys just to see how they worked and invent something new. Those same qualities stayed with him throughout his life. He loved building things, solving problems, and creating with his hands.

Brooks had a huge heart and a deep empathy for others. He had a wicked sense of humor that could light up a room and was the sweetest son to both his momma and dad. He also had a natural gift in the kitchen and was known as a great cook who could whip up an incredible meal without ever needing a recipe.

Brooks struggled and fought valiantly with addiction, a battle that many face but few truly understand. Through it all, those who loved him knew the goodness in his heart and the love he carried for his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold Hinton and Virgil and Glenda Baker.

He is survived by his parents, Mike and Karen Baker; his sister, Bailey Jane Baker; and his grandmother, Marjorie Hinton Pickle.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026, in the chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.

Addiction is a disease that does not define the worth of the person who suffers from it. Brooks fought bravely against it, and his family wants the world to remember the man he truly was-kind, funny, deeply empathetic, and full of love for his family and friends. If sharing his story brings awareness, compassion, or encourages even one person to seek help, then his life continues to make a difference. Those who loved Brooks will carry his memory forward with love, grace, and the hope that greater understanding and kindness toward those battling addiction will grow in his honor.
