Stephanie Lisa Decker

Stephanie "Lisa" Decker, 56, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, in Carrollton, Mo.

Lisa was born on August 17, 1969, to Michael Decker and Janet Fisher. As the oldest sibling, she helped care for her younger brothers, Justin and Jeremy, and it was there-early on-that her lifelong joy of caring for others began to take shape.

Lisa graduated from Carrollton High School in 1987. She later went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia College and a Master's Degree from the University of Missouri.

Lisa spent many years working for the University of Missouri, where she helped educate in Rural Sociology, specifically about the Amish community. This work reflected her deep curiosity, compassion, and genuine respect for people and cultures different from her own.

She was united in marriage with Shawn Myers on December 26, 2018.

She loved reading, shopping, and the simple joy of being a grandma. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she found her greatest happiness in loving and caring for them.

She is survived by her mother, Janet (William) Dellinger of Sturgeon; her father, Michael (Jan) Decker of Bogard; her brothers, Justin Decker of Carrollton and Jeremy Decker of Hallsville; her husband, Shawn Myers of Carrollton; her daughters, Stephanie Brockert of Columbia, Meagan (Cory) Schlueter of Carrollton, and Tori Newton of Columbia; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Vestel and Virginia Fisher and Ivan and Esther Decker, and by two of the greatest loves of her life-her sons, Lane and Dalton Newton. While our hearts ache knowing how much loss she carried in this life, there is comfort in believing she is now reunited with them-whole again and at peace.

Lisa's legacy is not found in grand speeches or big accomplishments, but in the way she made people feel: safe, seen, and deeply loved.

A funeral service will be held at Bittiker Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 20th at 2:30 PM.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Suicide Prevention Alliance, a cause close to Lisa's heart.
