Sherry Crutcher Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DW Brooks Funeral Home on Dec. 10, 2025.
Sherry Annette Crutcher, known to all simply as Sherry, was a beacon of laughter and a true embodiment of Texas charm, who never met a stranger she couldn't turn into a friend with her wit and warmth. Born on the 1st of March, 1974, in the heart of Seguin, Texas, she spent her entire life spreading joy in the town she loved so much. On December 6, 2025, at the age of 51, Sherry took her final bow in the same town, leaving behind a legacy of humor, love, and an endless supply of cherished memories. A graduate of the Seguin school district, Sherry was a woman of many talents. She could sell ice to an Eskimo as a telemarketer and provided comfort and care as a home health care provider. Her work was more than a job; it was her stage, where she brought smiles and a daily dose of comedy to those around her. Sherry was a Christian who lived her faith through her actions, often reminding us that Jesus had a sense of humor too, after all, he made us, didn't he? Her spirituality was as unshakable as her ability to crack a joke, even in the most unexpected situations. Her interests were as vibrant and lively as her personality. Sherry could light up a room with her laughter, and her blunt, no-nonsense take on life was as refreshing as a cold glass of sweet tea on a hot Texas day. Music was her refuge, family and friends her audience, and her life was a symphony of joyful moments and side-splitting punchlines. Sherry was the life of every party, and her beautiful soul and smile were her hallmarks. She was the kind of person who would tell you exactly what she thought, and you'd end up thanking her for it. Her humor was a gift that she gave freely, and her legacy is a tapestry woven with the threads of her laughter and love. She leaves behind a loving family who were the very heart of her world. Sherry was preceded in passing by her mother, Shirley Annette Ussery, and her doting grandparents, Curtis Sr and Hattie Crutcher. Her stepdad, Larry Lewis, stood by her like the steadfast stagehand in her life's play. Sherry's sons, Quintinae Crutcher with Miriah Rosas, and Terry Mayfield with Adrianna Stockman, will carry on her spirit of humor and humanity, as will her adored grandchildren, Amia and Amani Mayfield, who were her favorite audience. Her sister, Letitia Crutcher, and brother, Xavier Ussery Sr. and Melvin Ussery Jr, Niece and Nephew Mariah and Xavier Jr Ussery will miss their sister's quick-witted banter, as will her beloved life partner, Edward Guilbeau, who shared in the joy and jest of their life together. Sherry also leaves behind an aunt and uncle, a host of cousins, and countless friends who were all part of her extended comedy troupe. Sherry Annette Crutcher's final curtain call may have come, but the laughter she inspired will echo through the lives of those who knew her, forever reminding us that life is better when you're chuckling. Rest in peace, dear Sherry, and may the heavens be filled with your resounding laughter. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Sherry, please visit our floral store.
