Sherry Fox, age 71, of Penn Yan, NY passed away peacefully at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital on May 6, 2025. Sherry was born in Penn Yan, NY on July 13, 1953 to the late Richard L. McCann and Iona M. (Oakley) McCann.
Sherry is survived by her loving husband of nearly 53 years, Howard L. Fox; children, Christina Miller (Tracy) and Michele Thompson (Curtis), both of Penn Yan, NY; grandchildren, Brittani Scott (James) of Farmington, NY, Chelsi Conaway (Austin), Brandon Miller, Caleb Thompson, Bryant Miller, Celeste Thompson, and Cayden Johnson, all of Penn Yan, NY; great-grandchildren, Cailiegh Thompson, Iris Scott, Cova Conaway, Celi Thompson and soon to be great-grandson Baby Miller; sister, Linda Shoemaker of Warne, NC; brother, Richard McCann, of Penn Yan, NY; sister-in-laws, Cheryl Fitzwater (Dale) of Branchport, NY, Linda Stewart (Gene) of Painted Post, NY and Judy Ryan (Denny) of Penn Yan, NY; along with many nieces, nephews and close friends. She is predeceased by her parents; sisters, Sandy Harris and Joan Murray, and nephews, Jody Harris and Curtis Ryan.
Sherry was a loving mother and grandmother, who loved shopping with her daughters and granddaughters. She could often be found playing Euchre on Saturdays with her brother, watching the Bills, NASCAR or her favorite Soaps, "Young & the Restless" and "The Bold and the Beautiful". She was a devoted employee of the accounting department at Keuka College for over 30 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 24, 2025 from 2-6pm at the Seneca Lake Duck Hunters Club, 2188 State Route 14, Penn Yan, NY 14527. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Yates County, 1216 State Route 14A, Penn Yan, NY 14527.

I'm sad to hear of Sherry's passing. She was a member of the PYA Class of '71 who will be remembered for her kindness and beautiful nature. Rest in peace, Sherry.
