Sherry Freeman Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 27, 2025.
Sherry Lynn Freeman, age 67, of Millsboro, DE, formerly of Newport, DE, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at her home.

Born in Wilmington, DE, on August 9, 1958, she was the eldest daughter of the late Harry Jackson Freeman and the late Shirley Mae (Schrader) Freeman. Sherry graduated from Conrad High School.

Sherry had special needs throughout her life, but in recent years, while living in Long Neck, DE, she experienced some of the most fulfilling and joyful times of her life. She found renewed purpose and happiness attending the Long Neck Cheer Center, where her kind and loving spirit truly shined. Known for her generous heart, Sherry found great joy in helping others-especially the older members of the center. She also loved dancing, which always brought a bright smile to her face.

She is survived by her five siblings: Brenda Freeman, Dean Freeman, Lisa Marshall and her husband Peter, Steve Freeman and his wife Jennifer, and Jeff Freeman; her nephews: Erik Freeman, Peter Marshall, and Patrick Marshall; her niece, Jamie Vork; two great-nephews, Austin Vork and Julian Freeman; and a great-niece, Allison Thorn.

A service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, November 14, 2025 at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE 19701.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the organization that brought Sherry so much joy: Long Neck Cheer Center, 26089 Long Neck Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966
