Sherry Marie Johnson

Sherry Marie Johnson, 65, of McPherson, KS, and formerly of Kirwin, KS, peacefully passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, surrounded by family at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

She was born on September 10, 1960, in Smith Center, KS, the daughter of Robert Leroy and Charline Kay (Cox) Capps. Sherry graduated from Eastern Heights High School in Agra, KS. On February 28, 1999, Sherry was united in marriage to Galen Deryl Johnson in Kirwin, KS.

Sherry worked at Braum’s in McPherson where she held a variety of positions over the years. She was a member of ABATE of Kansas District 9 and especially enjoyed riding motorcycles and birdwatching.

Survivors include her loving husband of 27 years, Galen of the home; daughters, Aubrey Miller (Duece) of Shawnee, KS, Calista Speake of Liberty, MO, and Suzanne Bohl of Phillipsburg, KS; father, Robert Capps of Kirwin, KS; siblings, Charlotte Issler of Atkinson, NE, Roberta Atchison (Jimmy) of Kirwin, KS, and Rick Capps (Rolanda) of Kirwin, KS; five grandchildren, Hudson Speake, Heather Sauer, Lauren Miller, Bethany Bohl, and Mark Harmon; six great-grandchildren; and many extended relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Charline Capps; son, Andrew “A.J.” Johnson; grandson, Cody Harmon; and son-in-law, Darrell Bohl.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Marquette Lutheran Cemetery.  The family encourages all attendees to wear casual/comfortable attire.
