Sherry Lafleur, a devoted housewife and cherished matriarch, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, in Lafayette, Louisiana at the age of 77. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann Catholic Church in Mamou on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the New St. Ann Cemetery with Father Billy Massie officiating services.
Sherry Bertrand Lafleur was born on Tuesday, December 9, 1947, in Reddell, Louisiana, and was known for her loving and nurturing personality, qualities that made her the cornerstone of her family. Her life goal was to take care of her loved ones, a mission she undertook with great pride and dedication. Throughout her life, Sherry was not only a nurturing figure at home but also a compassionate volunteer at the thrift store in Pine Prairie, where she was always eager to help others. She had a fondness for going to the casino, where she enjoyed making memories with friends.
Sherry is lovingly remembered by her sons, Darrell Guillory (Penny) and Dwayne Lafleur (Kristy); her daughter, Davana Lafleur; and her 14 grandchildren, Darrell Jr., Timothy, Mariah, Constance, Casie, Christin, Macie, Haylie, Austin, Madison, Derek, Nicholas, Travis, and Reece; as well as 14 great-grandchildren. Sherry was also blessed with the love of her sisters, Rita Bogard and Freddie Andrepont (Burt).
Sherry was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Ronald "Boonie" Lafleur; her parents, Hammy and Odile Bertrand; her son, David Lafleur, and her grandchild, Brodie.
A visitation to celebrate Sherry's life will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Mamou. Visitation will continue on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited Thursday at 6:00 PM and will be led by the Catholic Daughters.
Sherry Lafleur leaves behind a legacy of love and care that will resonate within the hearts of her family and friends for years to come. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the joy and warmth she brought into the lives of those that knew her.
