Sherry Emily Seagroves Lanehart, 77, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, with her daughter by her side.
The visitation will be Monday, January 22, 2024, at Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home in McCamey, from 5pm to 7pm. Celebration of her life will be, Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 10am at the First Baptist Church in Iraan with Pastor Bobby Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Restland Cemetery in Iraan.
Sherry was born on February 6,1946 in Beaumont, Texas. She loved being outdoors. Sherry loved playing golf and going camping. She loved the Iraan Braves, the Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys.
What she loved the most of all was her friends and family. Especially her daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lanehart, her parents, Thomas Jefferson and Annie Jo Seagroves, her siblings, Lamar Pillow, Sydney Pillow, Ruth Ann Johnson, Cecil Seagroves, and Frieda Pillow.
Her survivors include her daughter, Tonya Lott, her brother, Elbert Pillow and wife Janet, grandchildren, Jim Nelson and wife Janice and Holly Lott, her great-grandchildren, Taylor Lott, Caroline Reyes and Kenzo Naboye, Sister-in-laws, Margaret Pillow and Carol Willingham.
Serving as pallbearers will be Butch Kimbrough, Sam Douglas, Doug McAnally, Henry Holmes, Jim Nelson, and Roy Lee Alldredge. Honorary pallbearers include Rick Rylander, Bob Inman and Gordon Lott.
Services are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
