Sherry Paxson McNutt, 62

Sherry Irene Paxson McNutt, 62 of Portsmouth, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at her home. She was born May 2, 1963 in Portsmouth to the late Earl and Edith White Paxson.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Dale "Junior" McNutt Jr., whom she married on July 3, 1983, brothers; James Paxson, David Paxson and Johnny Paxson, a sister, Connie Pack, sister-in-law Kathy McNutt, brothers-in-law; Dwight McNutt and David McNutt, 2 great grandchildren; Greyson and Layden, a niece Misty Goodwin and 2 nephews; Shawn Paxson and Shane McNutt.

Sherry was a lifelong devoted Christian. She loved her family and friends, and loved to make people laugh.

Sherry is survived by her son, Bill McNutt (Rachel Jenkins), two daughters, Amy (Ted) Cregger and Tina (Jamie McKenzie) McCleese, 11 grandchildren; Chantelle Bush, Kiersten McNutt, Layla (Dacota) Wetmore, Caden Bush, Chloe (Josh) Sadler, Haiden Prior, Harper, Hazel, Brandon, Bradey and Makayla McKenzie, 4 great grandchildren; Khloe, Ashlyn, Ella, Kylee and 2 on the way, she is also survived by her brothers; Bill (Diana) Paxson and Henry (Cathy) Paxson, sisters; Susan (Darrell) Goodwin, Tammy Paxson, Carolyn Armstrong, brothers-in-law John "Buck" McNutt, Doug (Teresa) McNutt and Terry (Kim) McNutt, special friends, Tammy and Becky, along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 6:00 PM Wednesday, February 25, 2025 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Tammy Charles officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday starting at 4:00 PM. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
