Sherry E. Merrow

JEFFERSON - Sherry Elizabeth (Stiles) Merrow died Friday, August 4, 2023, at home with her family after a lengthy battle with cancer. Sherry was born October 6, 1946, the daughter of Alger and Glenna Stiles of Milan and a graduate of Berlin High School. She worked in Bangor, ME, for two years before marrying her husband of 57 years, John Merrow, where they raised their two children, Kelly Merrow Marr of Goffstown, and Dawn Merrow Stanford of Dunbarton.
Sherry worked in the Jefferson Town Office as a secretary for 10 years, and worked at Peoples Bank, Marshall Insurance, and Fuller's Sugar House. She volunteered to provide transportation and run errands for people who were unable to do so themselves and was a member of the Jefferson Christian Church. Sherry was fun and loving, loved to shop, was an avid collector of anything related to hummingbirds, was a great cook and baker and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband and children, Sherry is survived by her two sons-in-law Mike Marr and Jeff Stanford, two grandchildren, Brianna Chapman, and Sage Chapman, her brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Emilie Stiles of Berlin, NH, seven step-grandchildren, four step great grand-children, nephews, nieces, cousins, and many friends.
A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 2:00pm at the Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster, NH, followed by a celebration of life at the Jefferson Community Center, 178 Meadows Rd, Jefferson. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Heart and Sole Mates, Attn: Rita Ayers, 38 Second St, Lancaster, NH 03584. Funds assist other local North Country cancer patients and their families with lodging, travel, and medical expenses.
