Sherry Lynn Mullen, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, in Evansville, IN, at the age of 68. Born on June 12, 1956, in Chicago, IL, Sherry was a beacon of joy and kindness to all who knew her.
Sherry's life was a testament to the love she had for her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Malcom Mullen, and her loving children, Christina Swafford (Jeff), Michael Collins, Rosa Combs, Timothy Combs, Steven Combs, Shawna Harris (Darren), Ryan Mullen (Shannon), and Ashley Mullen. She was a doting grandmother to many grandchildren who will miss her warmth and the stories she shared. Sherry was preceded in death by her Mother, Rosie Mae king, father, Ernest Britt SR daughters, Lillian Combs, and Jackie Wilson.. She was a beloved sister to Judy, Gail, Peggy, George, and the late Martha and Betty. Her nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart, each of them touched by her generosity and spirit.
Sherry's zest for life was evident in her everyday activities. She found joy in the simple pleasures, like savoring a meal at her favorite restaurant, Canton Inn, and indulging in her passion for "junking," always on the lookout for hidden treasures. Her laughter was infectious, and her presence could light up any room.
Above all, Sherry cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and children. Each moment was an opportunity to create lasting memories, whether it was through shared stories, laughter, or imparting wisdom. She nurtured her family with love, patience, and understanding, and her legacy will continue to live on through them.
Sherry's life was a beautiful mosaic of the love she gave and the lives she touched. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, but her spirit will forever be a guiding light in their lives. As we say goodbye to Sherry Lynn Mullen, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the countless ways she enriched our lives. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
