Sheryl Ann McCaskey, 80, of Great Bend, Ks, passed away at Ellinwood District Hospital on August 30th, 2024 peacefully after a battle of health issues ultimately leading to the Lord above calling her home. She was born in Lacrosse, Ks on February 23, 1944 to Mildred & Ed Rein. Sheryl married Robert Peters and had three daughters and later divorced. Then, met and married Benjamin (Benny) McCaskey. Sheryl retired from Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy in Great Bend. Then, spent most of her time sitting on her front porch, watching food network, eating heath candy bars, and most importantly loved visiting with her grandkids and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 29 years, Benjamin (Benny) McCaskey; daughters Kerri (James) Elsen of Ellinwood, Ks and Sandy Frydendall of Meade, Ks; stepson, Brad (Terri) McCaskey of Erving, TX; sister, Madeline (Maddy) Petz of Buhler, Ks; brother, Jim Rein of Buhler, Ks; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Ed Rein; two brothers, Danny Rein and Donnie Rein; sister, Phyllis Higgins; daughter, Brenda Peters; and son-in-law Darby Frydendall
Services will be held at a later date for close family members. In lieu of donations, the family requests donations be made to Minnis Chapel - Ellinwood, KS 67526.
