Shirley Bush Allen, 67, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at her home in Woodbury. She was the daughter of the late Jessie Clyde and Sina Smallwood Bush. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Michael Allen, siblings, Jimmy Bush and Harold Bush; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas E. Allen and Ladye Allen and brother-in-law, Danny Jackson.

She is survived by her loving children, Christy (Brad) Prater of Woodbury and Matt (Melissa) Allen of Readyville; grandchildren, Micah and Liv Prater, Maddie and Anniston Allen; brothers, Johnny (Sherry) Bush of Lebanon and Jerry (Debbie) Bush of Statesville; sisters-in-law, Jean Bush of Brush Creek and Lynne Jackson of Auburntown. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Katie Buchanan with Alive Hospice whom Ms. Shirley called her best friend.

Shirley was a beloved homemaker and member of Prosperity Baptist church. She enjoyed antiquing, fishing, camping with her family and reading. Most importantly, she absolutely loved spoiling her grandchildren, taking them shopping and watching them play sports.

Ms. Allen's family will receive friends Saturday, October 4, 2025 beginning at 10:00 A.M. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. David Moody officiating. Interment will follow in Prosperity cemetery. Pallbearers include Johnny Bush, Jerry Bush, Justin Holt, Brian Jackson, Nick Smith and Al Collins.
