Shirley Mae Arnold, 88, was called to her eternal resting place on July 9, 2024. She entered this world on February 23, 1936, in Canton, TX, born to Albert and Hazel Akin. Shirley was a creative person who enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She liked to play cards with people at her church. And she worked for many years as a bank teller for Republic and Nations Bank.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Hazel Akin; brothers Foster Akin, Benny Akin; sisters Judy Akin and Cindy Lile; and son Byron Don Arnold.
She is survived by her siblings Betty Faye, Audre, Clyde, Dennis; and granddaughter Heather Brooks.
A memorial service will be 1:00 PM, Monday July 15,2024 at Huckabee Memorial Chapel, 100 Tomlinson Lane, Seven Points, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations of food or funds be made to a local food pantry.
