Shirley M. Blumhoff, age 87, of Lyndon died Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Clinton, IA. Shirley was born February 2, 1927 in Prophetstown the daughter of Lyell and Belva (Arnett) Fisk. She worked at General Electric in Morrison for many years. Shirley married James Blumhoff on January 21, 1948 in Morrison. He preceded her in death in July 26, 2003. She was a member of the late Lyndon United Methodist Church in Lyndon. Survivors include four sons Larey (Linda) Blumhoff of Morrison, Rick (Tina Wagner) Blumhoff of Lyndon, Jim (Jan) Blumhoff of Bridgeport, OH, and Randy (Socorro) Blumhoff of San Antonio, TX, one sister Donna (John) Morse of Lyndon, one brother Don Fisk of Sterling, eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son Marty. A gathering of family and friends will be from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 7, 2015 at McDonald Funeral Home in Prophetstown, 46 Grove Street. Memorial service will follow at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Reverend Cheri Stewart from the Prophetstown United Methodist Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Lyndon Historical Society.
