Shirley W. Brest, age 82, of New Castle, passed away the morning of Oct. 21, 2024, at the Haven Convalescent Home.
Born Sept. 24, 1942, in Niles, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late George and Minnie E. (Moore) Keller.
She was married to her beloved husband, Loyal Keith Brest, who preceded her in death Feb. 1, 1970.
Shirley was a homemaker who treasured taking care of her family. She enjoyed walking, bingo, camping, playing cards, and puzzles. Shirley was an avid fan of old-time country music.
Survivors include her five children, Grace McGlumphy of Erie, PA, Chester Brest (fiancé Patty Craven) of New Castle, PA, Rosemarie (Anthony) Cornelius of Columbus, OH, George (Tiffani) Brest of New Castle, PA, and Cheryl Huff of Maryland; one brother, three sisters, twelve grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
In keeping with her wishes there will be no visitation or services.
