Shirley V. Brooks, 90, of Salem, NH passed away Sunday, August 24th at Salemhaven.

Shirley grew up in Auburn, ME, the daughter of the late James L. Farrell and Dora V (Griffin) Brooks. She was a graduate from Edward Little High School (Auburn ME) Class of 1952 before attending Nursing School at Central Maine Medical Center School of Nursing (Lewiston ME) and Worcester State University (Boston College, MA). After obtaining her registered nurse certification, Shirley embarked on a devoted life long 45+ year passion serving all across New England in the areas of pediatrics and emergency medicine. She obtained residency through Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston) and eventually to returned to Maine Medical Center (Portland ME) where Shirley married Edward H. Brooks III. Shirley and Edward had 3 sons Thomas, William and Johnathan and relocated to the seacoast of Rockland Maine, where Shirley's selfless devotion continued for 25+ years of dedicated service with Rockland District Nurses association (Rockland ME) providing free healthcare services to anyone in need up and down the seacoast of Maine.

Over the years Shirley's tireless Christian devotion to God, Faith and Family was evident through her service and memberships at Court Street Baptist Church (Auburn, ME), Littlefield Memorial Baptist Church (Rockland, Maine), and CenterPoint Community Church (Salem, NH). Shirley always viewed the glass as half full and was the most positive voice of reason in any given situation bringing the very best out of people privileged to know her. She also served on countless boards, committees and as a deaconess, but her true passion was her love of music. Shirley was always at the forefront serving the will of the Lord in church choirs & performing with the Down East Singers Group all over New England. Her spiritual devotion, love for life, laughter and beautiful angelic voice, will forever ring in the hearts of all that knew her.

She is survived by her son, Johnathan and wife Patty of Salem, NH; brother in-law Larry Brooks and wife Sandy of Colorado; her 6 grandchildren, Katelynn Laurina and her husband Mike, Nicholas Brooks, Heather Doloroso and husband Paul, Zac Brooks, Trevor Brooks and Rachel Brooks and 5 great grandchildren, Paul III, Brooklynn, Theodore, Klover and Johnathan and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Edward & sons Tom and Bill.

A funeral service will be held Thursday August 28 at 10:00 AM on-site at the NH State Veteran's Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CenterPoint Community Church, 101 School St. Salem, NH 03079.
