SHIRLEY R. BRUMER
1936 - 2025

Shirley Rhodine Brumer (nee: Griffin); Age 89 of Saint Clair Shores, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at Grace Senior Living in Rochester Hills, Michigan. She was born to Harold L. and Floride Griffin (nee: Dunn) on January 10, 1936 in Royal Oak, Michigan. She graduated from Pershing High School in Detroit, Michigan and went on to work at Uniroyal Tire in their credit union. She married Eugene "Gene" Brumer on September 19, 1956. They had one daughter, Cathleen.

The family enjoyed traveling around in their camper, visiting numerous states and Canadian provinces. After retirement, Shirley and Gene spent the winters in the south, first Alabama, then Florida, while also spending time in northern Michigan at Canada Creek Ranch. Both enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. Shirley also enjoyed playing cards with family, as monthly euchre nights frequently ran into early mornings. She remained living in her St. Clair Shores home until December, 2024, when her health required her to move for more care.

She is survived by her brother, David Lee (Debra) Griffin of Punta Gorda, FL; her daughter Cathleen Brumer (Geoffrey) Daniel of Rochester Hills; Grandson Nicklas Sean Daniel and Granddaughter Kristin Shea Daniel, as well as her four-legged child Penny.

Funeral Service for Shirley will take place on Monday, September 22, 2025 at 11 AM at Christian Memorial Cemetery, 521 E. Hamlin Road, Rochester Hills, Michigan 48307. A funeral luncheon will follow the service.
