1933 - 2025
Richard Charles Hess; Age 92 of Saint Clair Shores, Michigan passed away Thursday, November 20, 2025 in Mount Clemens, Michigan.
He was born on May 17, 1933 to Theodore and Laura Hess (nee: Belz) at their home in East Detroit (Eastpointe), Michigan. Richard was a retired mechanical engineer. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Occupation Service Medal prior to his honorable discharge on January 31, 1956.
Richard is predeceased by his wife Carolyn (nee: Hunt) who passed away in 2016. Beloved father of Suzanne (Renzo) Musante and Barbara (Franz) Micakovic, Proud grandfather of Daniel (Jessica) Musante, Natalie (Jonathan) Tango, Andrew Micakovic, Jessica (Alexander) Rakovitis, Jacob Micakovic, and the late Stephanie Musante. Great grandfather of Blake, Nicholas, Lauren, Renzo, Allison, Adelyn and Wren.
Funeral mass Saturday, November 29, 2025, 10:00 AM (Visitation 9 AM) at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 23401 Jefferson Ave. (S. of 9 Mile Road), Saint Clair Shores, Michigan 48080 with Fr. James E. Commyn officiating. Following mass, committal prayer with U.S. Military Honors will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Road, Clinton Township, Michigan 48038.
Following the committal service, family and friends will continue to celebrate Richard's life at Sycamore Hills Golf Club, 48787 North Avenue, Macomb Township, Michigan 48042.
