Shirley Bussey

Shirley Bussey went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 23, 2023. She was born on May 2, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Woodrow and Essie Victorian Wilson. Shirley spent most of her adult life living in New Jersey, the majority of the time in East Brunswick, NJ. She was a retired clerk with Middlesex County in New Brunswick, NJ.
Shirley loved and served the Lord with all of her heart, and she loved to sing. She was a true evangelist, sharing the Gospel with anyone who would listen. She loved serving the Lord and served for years as a minister at Word Up Ministries Inc. in Old bridge, NJ. She served however she was called, teaching and sharing the Word of God. Shirley loved being with her family, and she loved to dance.
Along with her parents, Shirley is predeceased by two daughters Cynthia L. Holland and Wanda M. Bussey; her granddaughter Jessica Harrison; brother Alvin Wilson and sister Janis Alleyne.
She leaves to cherish her memory her former husband, Henry Bussey and two children Patricia (Trish) Bussey Jeter and her husband Elpidio A. Jeter, and Cory Bussey and his wife Heida Jonsson. Her eight grandchildren, Jordan Harrison, Sahib Justin Matias, Lilly Bussey, Myles Bussey, Oliver Bussey, Gabrielle Holland, Cristiana Holland and Cassandra Holland Childress and her four great grandchildren; her brother Anthony Wilson and his wife Betty Wilson. Shirley also leaves behind an extended family consisting of many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.
We want to express our sincere gratitude and heartfelt thanks to the dedicated team at Complete Care at Woodlands, for caring for mom, and most recently the team at Alaris at the Chateau. We also want to thank the Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, NJ, who supported Shirley in her last days.
He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever. Revelation 21:4
