Pawtucket – Shirley J. (Scott) Carroll, 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas "Ed" Carroll for thirty-two years. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late John J. Scott and Mildred L. (Bubier) Tammany. Shirley was a lifelong resident of the city and a faithful communicant of St. Teresa Church, Pawtucket. She worked at the former East Side Checker Club, Pawtucket, for many years and enjoyed socializing there with friends. Shirley retired from the Department of Motor Vehicles, Providence, where she worked as a clerk. Shirley was larger than life and loved being part of her huge circle of friends. She was a staple of the community and was voted the "face of Ireland" in the Pawtucket St. Patrick's Parade. Her laughter and big hugs will be missed by the lives she has touched over the many years. She is survived by two beloved sons, Harry R. Ogden, Sr. of Rumford and Scott D. Ogden of Pawtucket; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; two siblings, Patrick Tammany and Jodie Healy, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late John Scott, Mildred "Millie" Hallstrom and Tami-Ann Tammany. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment with her late husband will follow at Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 S. County Trail, Exeter. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to The Little Sisters of the Poor, 964 Main St., Pawtucket, RI 02860 would be appreciated.
