Hendersonville, North Carolina, at the age of 83. Born on May 13, 1942, Shirley's life was a testament to resilience, love, and dedication.
As a young woman, Shirley embarked on her career as a waitress, serving others with grace and a smile. Her work ethic and determination led her to Coats of North America, where she contributed her skills and energy. Shirley also took pride in helping build the bridge over Green River, a testament to her strength and commitment to her community.
In the later years of her career, Shirley found fulfillment in customer service at Wal-Mart in Hendersonville, where she worked for 15 years. Her friendly demeanor and genuine care for others made her a cherished colleague and friend to many.
Family was the cornerstone of Shirley's life. She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. Her home was always filled with laughter and love, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Shirley found joy in simple pleasures. She loved vacationing in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, where she could relax and enjoy the beauty of nature with her family. A lover of games, she spent many happy hours playing POGO computer games. She also had a passion for reading, especially Amish fiction books, which transported her to worlds of simplicity and faith.
Shirley is preceded in death by her father, Clyde Cribb; mother, Lillian Gladys Saunders Cribb; husband, Harold Burley Case; grandson, Clyde Dustin Watkins; son, Peter Irvin Watkins, Jr.; and daughter, Kimberly Corrnett. Though they have gone before her, their spirits remain intertwined with hers.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family: her daughter, Serenity Miranda of
Hendersonville, NC; grandsons, Brandon Watkins and wife Cheree, and Kasey Watkins of Hendersonville; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Zachary, Addison, and Lillian.
A private inurnment will be held at a later date, allowing her family to honor her life in a personal and meaningful way.
