Mary Margaret Dill Case, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at the age of 56, surrounded by family and friends in Oxford. She faced a nearly six-year battle with cancer with remarkable strength, grace, and unwavering faith.
Mary Margaret was a true creative spirit, known for her boundless energy and artistic vision. She built one of Mississippi's most successful event businesses, Oxford Pop + Party, where she became widely recognized for her custom balloon installations that brought joy to countless celebrations. Her staff at Oxford Pop + Party were a constant source of inspiration. Despite her illness, Mary Margaret continued to put smiles on countless faces and bring joy to others through her work.
A lifelong Ole Miss fan, Mary Margaret cherished her Rebel roots - inspired by her father, an Ole Miss football All-American center - and proudly supported Ole Miss athletics, including football and women's basketball.
Her love for Oxford, football weekends, and community ran deep. In November 2024, a gate at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium was named in her honor - a testament to the lasting impact she made on her Ole Miss family.
Born June 1, 1969, in
New Orleans, Louisiana, Mary Margaret graduated from West Point High School in 1987. She earned her bachelor's degree from Millsaps College in 1991 (where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority), and later completed a master's degree in educational psychology from the University of Mississippi in 1999.
Before launching her entrepreneurial career, she taught at the Ben Franklin International School in Barcelona, worked in sales for Bryan Foods, and served as a public school teacher in the West Point School District. She later became a board member of Take A Swing At Cancer in Mississippi and was honored twice as Parent of the Year by the Oxford School District.
Above all, Mary Margaret was a devoted wife of 25 years and a mother. Together, she and Chad created a home filled with love, warmth, laughter, and hospitality. Chad and her three daughters - Kitty, Mary Mac, and Audrey - were the center of her world.
