Shirley Morris Christian, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at her home in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Born September 14, 1937, in Georgia, she was the daughter of Benjamin F. Morris and Alice Christine Sentell Morris.
Her family and friends will remember her as the embodiment of grace and kindness. She was the perfect mother, a title that she wore with pride, and it seemed she was destined for this role. Her unwavering love for her family was evident in every interaction, and she poured her heart into caring for those around her. Shirley loved people, and her warmth and compassion extended beyond her immediate family to everyone she encountered.
In addition to her profound dedication to her family, Shirley had a variety of interests that brought joy to her life. She was an enthusiastic fan of game shows, relishing the excitement and challenge they provided. Traveling was another passion of hers, allowing her to explore new places, creating lasting memories.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years William Thomas "Billy" Christian, Jr.; son William Thomas Christian III; siblings Harold "Sonny" Morris, Nelle Morris Dragonjac, Dean Morris, JoAnn Morris Hatcher, David Morris, Barbara Jean "Bobbie" Lockerman, and William "Billy" Morris.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (John) Christian Rubino; and her sons, Tim Christian and Greg (Tanya) Christian. She also leaves behind adoring grandchildren Dylan Christian, Halston Christian, Stevie (Ben) Roberts, and Zoey Christian.
Shirley’s legacy will be honored through services held at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Gallatin, Tennessee. Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, followed by a Funeral Service conducted by Pastor Jerry Ladd at 1:30 PM. Lastly, her journey will continue to Sumner Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest.
Shirley Morris Christian leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and a vibrant spirit that will forever linger in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her.
Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center has been entrusted with Mrs. Christian's final arrangements.
