Shirley A. Cron

Shirley A. Cron, a beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Granny, Daughter, and Aunt, Friend: passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025. Born on February 23, 1943, in Somerset KY, Shirley graduated from Crown Point High School in 1961 and went on to marry the love of her life, Robert D. Cron, on July 28, 1962.
Throughout her life, Shirley was known for her loving nature and unwavering faith. She was a devoted Christian who found joy in singing God's praises. She was a wonderful mother and Granny whose passion for gardening, sewing, crocheting, canning, and cooking were skills she learned from her elders and lovingly passed down to her children and grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert D. Cron; her children, Malissa (Todd) DeYoung, Robert D. (Laura Cepko) Cron II, and Malynda Cron; her grandchildren Jennifer (Jeremy) Rayner, Michael DeYoung, Hailee (Darrick) Richardson, Dalton Cron, Garett Cron; her Great Grandchildren, Makayla & Gavin Rayner, Charlotte & Kaleb DeYoung, Rhett & Lainey Richardson and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Ray Edward & Iva Magdalene (Dye) Johnson and brothers Ray Johnson, Charles Eugene Johnson and Jackie B Roysdon.
The family would like to acknowledge the following individuals who will serve as pallbearers who signify a close relationship Shirley and serve as a symbolic representation of support and strength of the grieving family. Robert D Cron II, Todd DeYoung, Michael DeYoung, Dalton Cron, Garett Cron, Darrick Richardson, and Joe Miller.
Shirley's legacy of love, faith, and cherished family traditions will live on through the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
