Shirley June Cross daughter of the late Ervin Buddy and Mollie Belle (McKuin) Byrd was born December 25, 1941 in Kennett, Missouri and departed this life October 2, 2025 at Troy, Missouri at the age of 83 years. Shirley married Gene Cross December 7, 1957 in Hernando, Mississippi. He preceded her in death on December 15, 2020.
She is survived by:
Two daughters: Charlotte Rose (Vic) of Troy, Missouri.
Sherry Shepard (Gary) of Ellsinore, Missouri.
Two brothers: Ervin Byrd (Mary Jo) of Kennett.
Kenny Byrd (Nancy) of Batesville, Arkansas.
Two sisters: Venita Miller (Tommy) of Kennett.
Jenita Smith (Jeff) of Kennett.
Grandchildren: Victor Rose (Tonya), Stefanie Ralls (Eric), Stacie Golden (James), Molly Cross, Allison Young (Chris) and Carisa Baker (Brad).
Great-Grandchildren: Merissa Bailey (Angus), Zachery Smith (Sabrina), Brooklynn Hess (Zachary), Adalynn Ralls, Alexa Hoagland, Brantley Hoagland, River Holt, Ledge Holt, Porter Golden, Jack Golden, Matty Dinkins, Aiden Young, Emmitt Young, Jameson Young, Caselyn Cross-Baker and Maggie Baker.
Great-Great grandchildren: Oliver and Bayla.
Other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by one son: Jimmy Wayne Cross, grandson: Michael Mason Rose, siblings: Barbara Byrd, Betty Price, Sondra Wake, Deronda Williams, Jimmy Byrd and Jerry Byrd.
Visitation will be held 3:00 PM-4:00 PM Monday, October 6, 2025 at McDaniel Funeral Service in Kennett. Graveside services 4:15 PM Monday, October 6, 2025 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett with Mr. Gary Shepard officiating with Alexa June Hoagland, Adalynn Lucille Ralls and Caselyn Blaine Cross-Baker. Interment in the Oak Ridge Cemetery.
