Shirley Ann Davis Johnston

Shirley Ann (Davis) Johnston, 88, of Conway, Arkansas, entered into glory on January 16, 2025 at Conway Regional Medical Center. She was born July 23, 1936 in Letona, Arkansas to Arthur Jefferson Davis and Mary Addle (Martindill) Davis.
Shirley graduated from Pangburn High School in 1954. She married Earl Ray Johnston of Quitman, Arkansas on August 25, 1956. She often bragged about how much cotton she could pick as a child. For 35 plus years, Shirley ran a home daycare, and the children always called her Ms. Shirley. She instilled in her children and daycare children important life values, as well as the importance of being a hard worker. Shirley never met a stranger and could talk your ears off if you had the time to listen. Shirley enjoyed listening to country and gospel music. Her favorite artists were Marty Robbins, T. Graham Brown, and the Malpass Brothers. Shirley was an excellent cook, baker and gardener. Her specialties were baked beans, pinto beans, pecan pie, and chocolate chip cookies.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 66 years, brothers Argeno Davis, Truett Davis, Junior Davis, Harold Wesley (Pete) Davis, sisters Clista Lasater, Mozelle Norma Nakonechnyj, and Opal Adams.
She is survived by her three children, Greg Johnston and Becky Johnston of Conway and Linda (Teddy) Townsend of Searcy, a grandson Dakota Townsend, and a brother James Davis of Searcy.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Olmstead Funeral Home with Graveside Services beginning at 2:00pm on Monday, January 20, 2025 in the Goodloe Cemetery.
