Shirley Ann Day (Crum), formerly of Mt Airy, MD passed away on July 26, 2024 at Brookdale Senior Living in Williamsburg, VA at the age of 89. She was the wife of the late Maxwell (Max) Day who preceded her in death in 2019.
Born June 23, 1935 in Frederick, MD, Shirley was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Kimmell) Crum. She was a graduate of Frederick High School Class of 1953 where she met Max and married in 1954.
Shirley enjoyed playing bingo, word search puzzles, collecting Longaberger baskets, and trips to Dresden, OH with friends. She was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Maryland Terrapins.
Shirley is survived by her sons, Chris Day and wife Ruth of Edgefield, SC and Brian Day and wife Amy of Williamsburg, VA., grandchildren Matthew Day, Lindsay Bolster, Jacob Day, Maggie Day, Claire Day, Joe Moravec, Jon Moravec, and seven great grandchildren. She is predeceased by sisters Bonnie Eshbaugh and Carol Hildebrand.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 7. 2024, at Providence United Methodist Church, 3716 Kemptown Church Road, Monrovia, MD 21770, at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Providence United Methodist Church.
