Shirley Ann DeVries, age 81 of Randolph, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at her home.
Shirley was born on July 7, 1943, daughter of Herbert and Lucille (Loschinski) Christian and was raised by Otto and Elfrieda Loest. She was united in marriage to James DeVries on March 23, 1963, at Frieden’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Randolph. She was well-educated, after graduating from Randolph High School in 1961 she later completed her studies in dental hygiene in Minnesota prior to focusing on raising her family. Shirley dedicated 35 years to her career at Jungs Seed Company before she retired. She was a member of Randolph Protestant Reformed Church.
In her free time, Shirley found joy in her yard, tending to her beautiful flower gardens and taking delight in feeding the birds. She had a special fondness for collecting roosters and snowmen, and she was an avid reader. Sports also held a place in her heart, particularly cheering for the Wisconsin Badgers.
Socializing with friends brought her happiness, but nothing compared to the time she cherished with her family, especially her grandchildren. She looked forward to the time spent during the holidays. Her warmth and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Shirley is survived by her four children, Pamela (Joseph) Wiersma, of Cambria; Jill (Eric) Maleck and Mary (Phil) Posthuma, both of Randolph, James (Dianne) DeVries of Oconomowoc; twelve grandchildren, Joey (Sarah) Wiersma, Brennen Wiersma, Arianna Wiersma, Douglas Henke, Tonya (Doyle) Hoffmann, Marissa (Troy) Cotterill, Tyler Paul, Preston Posthuma, Christopher DeVries, Grace DeVries, Demi (Dylan) Holtman, Dylan Cook; four great grandchildren, Dean and Jake Wiersma and Daxson and Drake Holtman; in-laws, Don (Hilda) DeVries, Frank (Marie) DeVries, Hank (Barb) DeVries, Morry (Arlene) DeVries, sisters-in-law, Shirley Christian, Patricia DeVries and Sue DeVries; further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
