Shirley Burke Dunse, age 82, of Starr, SC, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022, at her home.
Born October 21, 1939, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert Glenn Burke and Myrtle Mae Hutchins Burke. She was also preceded in death by her son, Glenn Dunse; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Shirley was married to her husband for almost 68 years and loved being an Air Force wife. She had an adventurous spirit and was the life of the party. She enjoyed traveling, square dancing, cooking, camping, going to the beach, and helping people in any way she could. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas and she loved her family dearly, especially her grandbabies.
She is survived by her husband, Albert Fredrick Dunse; daughters, Pamela Marie Lutton (Gary) of Starr, and Rhonda Diane Sease (Steve) of Anderson; daughter-in-law, Lora Dunse McAlister; grandchildren, Chrissy Lee (Harold) of Westminster, Matthew Lutton (Robin) of Lodge, Tyler Drake Sease (Kayla) of Anderson, and Andrew Glenn Sease of Anderson; and great grandchildren, Mikayla Lee of Westminster, Cody Lee of Westminster, Grady Sease of Anderson, and Madi Sease of Anderson.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 2, 2022, from 11:00am until 12:30pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 12:30 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Sam Duncan officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 pm at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of her daughter Rhonda Sease, 2403 High Shoals Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.
