Shirley A. Faessler

Shirley A. Faessler passed away peacefully on August 30, 2022 at the age of 95. She is survived by her sister Anne Leal who lives in Mexico City and her three stepdaughters: Nancy Faessler, Mary Bakhaus and son-in-law Bill Bakhaus, and Marilyn Catik; her two grandsons: Gregory and Michael Catik; and her two great granddaughters: Stella and Avery Catik. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Shirley was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1927and worked for a number of years at Ford Motor Company. In 1964 she married Eugene Faessler and they spent many years living between their lake home in Michigan and Naples Florida, living in several golf communities before settling into their final home at Bentley Village. Her beloved husband, Eugene passed away in August 2008.
From a large Irish American Catholic family, Shirley was thrilled when her stepdaughters took her to Ireland in 2010 and even more delighted when they found a pub in Killarney called Corkery's, Shirley's maiden name.
Shirley will be inurned next to Eugene at St. Peter the Apostle Church in Naples, Florida and a remembrance during mass will be said at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. At a later date, a mass and memorial will be held in Michigan for family and friends.
