Armida Camandang Faessler

1955 - 2020

Armida Camandang Faessler (65) of Long Beach, CA passed away surrounded by family on December 31, 2020. She was born on November 27, 1955 in San Jose, Mindoro, Philippines. Armida graduated from the University of Santo Tomas (Class of 1977) with a B.S. in Nursing. She moved to the U.S. after graduation where she met and fell in love with Danny Faessler at her first job. They were wed shortly thereafter. She worked in the healthcare industry for over forty years and broke barriers in healthcare management. She started her career as an LVN before passing her boards to become a RN in 1982. In the early 90s, she was promoted to Director of Nursing, and in the 2000s, she was certified as a Nursing Home Administrator. Predeceased by her loving husband, Danny Eugene Faessler; parents, Adolphi and Elisa Camandang; and siblings, Danilo, Bella, Norylinda, and Adolphi Jr., she is survived by her children, Andrew, Dawn and Daniel Faessler; siblings, Jeannet Mercado, Alfredo Camandang, Edgardo Camandang, Angelina Verceles and grandchildren, Ayden, Delaney and Ava Faessler. On Thursday, February 4, 2021, a viewing (4PM-7PM; in person and virtual) and mass (7PM-8PM; virtual ONLY) will be held at McKenzie Mortuary Services, 3843 E Anaheim St., Long Beach, CA. Due to public health restrictions, no more than 10 people may occupy the mortuary at a time, but loved ones can line up outside to pay their respects. Additionally, a graveside burial service, open to all, will be held at All Souls Cemetery, 4400 Cherry Ave, Long Beach, CA on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 11AM. The service will be held entirely outside. Attendees must wear face coverings and socially distance during all services.
