Shirley C. Hagstrom

Shirley C. Hagstrom passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at the age of 84. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Carl Hagstrom; her children, Eileen (Josef) Ruf, Levi Hagstrom, Carolyn (Michael) Ruggiero, Eric (Karen) Hagstrom, and Mary Beth (Greg) Hassett; her grandchildren, Matthew & Ola Ruf, Brian & Christina Ruf, Anthony & Kate Hagstrom, McKenzie & Mark Baccoli, Nicole Hagstrom, Nick (Michelle Sehm) Dalton, Leah & Chris Brogan, Koda Ruggiero, Jacob & Cayli Dalton, and Geoffrey & Megan Hassett; her great-grandchildren, Raymond, Arabella, Gianna, Kailey, Marianna, Rosalie, Declan, Serafina, Orianna, Cecilia, and Jack; her sisters-in-law, Nancy Thiele and Sandra Cronin. Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Henry & Dorothy Smith Cronin; her daughter, Julie Dalton; her siblings, Jean Reber, Mary Sauve, Martha Gore, Harriet Cook, Sheila Mueller, William Callahan, Jim Callahan, Henry Cronin, and Patrick Cronin; and her sons-in-law, Joseph DeCarlis Jr. and James Dalton.
Raising children was the joy of Shirley's life. She had many who were not her own who called her mom. She loved to cook, bake, sew, craft, and entertain family for holidays as well as create "honey do" lists for her husband Carl. Her faith and church were very important in her life. She volunteered many hours through the years teaching ccd, lunch monitor, carpooling for school trips, and Eucharistic Minister.
Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday, November 16th from 4 - 7 PM at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., 735 East Avenue in Hilton. Shirley's Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, November 17th at 11:00 AM at St. Lawrence Church, 1000 N. Greece Road in Greece. Interment will be held in Parma Union Cemetery following the Mass.
