Mrs. Shirley Jo Healan, age 95, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at a local medical facility.
Shirley was born in Centre, Alabama on March 1, 1930, to the late Lee Allmon Gresham and the late Margie Kelley Gresham. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Healan Jr.; her brothers, Kurt Gresham, Doyce Gresham, Edward Gresham, Romie Gresham, Billy Gresham, and Glen Gresham; and her sisters Tevis Wright and Edna Tudor.
Survivors include her brother; Ricky Gresham (Angie); three close-knit nieces, Debbie Davis (Ricky), Tammy Ozment (Mike), and Christy Mayhall (James); as well as several other beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Shirley was a flashy person and had a taste for luxury. She loved the color red and adored anything that sparkled. She was never seen without her red nail polish and her jewelry, which she wore lots of. Shirley was always very young at heart and enjoyed turning just about anything into a collection. She enjoyed collecting dolls most of all. Shirley was also a hospitable woman and insisted upon offering her guests coffee and cake whenever she had a visitor, but she also enjoyed going out to eat and was a shopping fanatic. She worked at Wal-Mart for many years before retirement and she loved her Wal-Mart work family. She also treasured her sweet canine companion, Baby.
Shirley had a zest for life and an unforgettable personality. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Pastor Matthew Bowden officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
