Shirley Hirschi Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Southern Utah Mortuary - Cedar City on Dec. 29, 2025.
Shirley Ann Hirschi, daughter of Vera Alhstrom and Clinton B Leigh, age 85, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, in Cedar City, Utah, the place where her life began and where her roots always remain strong.

Born on February 18, 1940, in Cedar City, Utah, Shirley lived a life centered on family, devotion, and quiet strength. She was married to the love of her life, Clark Hirschi, on November 16, 1956, in the Rock Church in Cedar City, UT, with whom she shared many years before his passing in 2017. Together, they built a home filled with love, resilience, and enduring values. Clark and Shirley, with their beloved pets, traveled the United States in their motorhome and enjoyed time spent in Duck Creek, UT, Sun City, AZ and Beaver Dam, AZ.

Shirley was a devoted homemaker and the proud mother of three children: Kleigh C. Hirschi (Sheryll), Glenna H. Bethay (Arlen), and Koal C. Hirschi (Monica). Her greatest joy came from caring for her family and creating a home that was welcoming, steady, and full of love.

She was a cherished grandmother to Levi Hirschi, Klint Hirschi, Katon Bethay, Kodi Bethay, Baylee Hirschi, Jordan Hirschi, and Koaleigh Hirschi, and a beloved great-grandmother to Lily Bethay, Lavender Bethay-Roth, Kendellyn Bethay, Kinsley Bethay, Khaely Bethay, Kohen Bethay, Keegan Bethay, Blaze Hirschi, Ethan Schweikart, Koltin Hirschi, and Knox Hirschi. Her legacy lives on through each generation she nurtured with patience, kindness, and unwavering love.

Shirley will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her dedication to family, and the quiet ways she showed her love every day. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and deep familial bonds that will continue for generations.

Shirley was survived by her siblings, Bevan Leigh, Dan Leigh (Gail), and Becky Miller (Glen).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark Hirschi, her mother, Vera Leigh, father, Clinton B Leigh, and her brother, Gary Leigh.

Funeral services will be held at LDS Rock Church, 75 East Center Street, Cedar City, Utah on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026, beginning at 12:00 pm. Viewing will be held at Southern Utah Mortuary in Cedar City, UT on Saturday morning, January 3rd, 2026, from 10 to 11:30 am.
