Shirley Mae Hoffman (1932 - 2025)

Shirley Mae Hoffman, of Ocean View Delaware passed peacefully in her sunroom overlooking her garden surrounded by family on September 25, 2025.

Shirley was born in Greenburg, PA in 1932 to Beatrice and William Heiser. She married Donald Frank Hoffman in 1951 and they raised four children together. Known to her grandchildren as "Meme" (as that's what the first grandchild dubbed her and she gladly ran with the moniker). She maintained a young soul by gardening, and enjoying the simple pleasures of a sunny day filled with fun piano tunes while sipping a cup of coffee. She was a lover of all things that grow, including her ever-expanding family and her gardens. Shirley supported her family providing them whatever they needed through fair or foul weather to bloom. This was due to the beautiful legacy of a tremendously kind woman.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, and is survived by her sisters, Roberta Kole and Adrene Cavanaugh. Children Gail Lavine, William Hoffman, Richard Hoffman, and Donna Miskin, as well as grandchildren, Allison McAulifffe, Andrew Vaughn, Billy Hoffman, Michele Grebas, Kyle Hoffman, Alyse Hoffman, Holly Miskin, and Ben Miskin. In addition, she had ten great-grandchildren, all fortunate enough to know and love their Meme. With all love, may her light shine forever.
