Shirley Holmberg Obituary
Born on November 17, 1950, in Alturas, California, Shirley was the second oldest of five children of Lucille and West Williams. She cherished her upbringing in Alturas alongside her siblings and two lifelong friends.
Shirley and her first husband, Mike, raised their two children, Jenny and Michael, in Sacramento, California. Deeply devoted to her family, she actively supported her children's school and church life. Later in life, Shirley married Joseph Holmberg and continued her enduring commitment to faith and service.
Over the course of more than five decades, Shirley dedicated herself to volunteer work. She both worked and volunteered at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albany, Oregon, and served as treasurer for the Linn County Small Woodlands Association.
A gifted seamstress, Shirley spent much of her life sewing everything from dresses to potholders. She also found joy in cooking-especially desserts-and took great comfort in time spent in her sewing room and kitchen.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Theresa Williams; and brother, Paul Williams. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Holmberg; daughter, Jenny Davis; son, Michael Davis; three grandchildren: Nicholle, Raevyn, and Breanna; two great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Harrison; and brother, Fred Williams.
A service will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albany, Oregon. The Rosary will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Shirley will be laid to rest at Alturas Cemetery in Alturas, California, on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
