Shirley Jones Obituary
July 30, 1936 - August 31, 2023
Mrs. Shirley Smith Jones, 87, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Walnut Ridge Assisted Living. She was born in Davie County on July 30, 1936, to the late Sherrill and Lucille McDaniel Smith. Mrs. Jones was a member of First Christian Church of Clemmons. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, and was a friend to everyone. Preceding her in death was her husband, Phillip Sylvester "Pee Wee" Jones; son, Steve Jones and two brothers, Jim and Kenneth Smith. Surviving are two sons, Tim Jones (Donna) of Mooresville and Mike Jones of Clemmons; also surviving is a grandson, Austin Jones.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at First Christian Church of Clemmons with Mr. Wayne Phelps officiating. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family would like to thank the staff at Walnut Ridge Assisted Living for all the care and support given to Mrs. Jones. Flowers will be accepted, or donations can be made to Trellis Supportive Care Walnut Cove/Stokes County Office, PO Box 863 Walnut Cove, NC 27052.
